Acoustically generated magnetic flux in a bi-metallic superconducting loop

Abstract

A calculation of the magnetic flux induced in a bi-metallic superconducting loop by an acoustic wave is described. Estimates of the magnitude of the effect have been made which show that it is large enough to be detected by presently available superconducting quantum interference magnetometers.
