Abstract

We present a power-variable rate-adaptive LDPC-coded polarization multiplexed coherent OFDM scheme, suitable for use in optically-routed networks in which different lightwave paths experience different penalties due to deployment of ROADMs and WXCs. We demonstrate that channel capacity can be closely approached with proposed scheme.
