Abstract
In this paper, shear stress on the bed of sine-generated channels is studied by using a three dimensional hydrodynamic model (CCHE3D). Predictions of the shear stress distribution from CCHE3D are compared with experimental data measured in sine-generated curved channels. Both the simulation and the measurement show that the distribution pattern of bed shear stress is strongly affected by channel sinuosity, while the magnitude of bed shear stress is a function of channel sinuosity and bed relative roughness.
