Abstract
A ceramic microdischarge arrays with individually ballasted pixels was discussed. It was found that spatially uniform glow excited states of the singly charged Xe ion, lying ∼ 26-27 eV above the neutral ground state were observed. The analysis showed that for a 169 element array drawing a total current of 30 mA, the output power of the array in the 300-1000 nm spectral region falls to ∼ 55% of its initial value in ∼ 8.3h of continuous operation with a static gas fill.
