Abstract

The empirical and theoretical crop water stress index (CWSI) were evaluated for Bermuda Turfgrass over a range of water-stressed conditions. The empirical CWSI gave inconsistent estimates which were moderately correlated with net radiation. The theoretical CWSI were consistent, but different results were obtained by applying the simple energy balance and Penman-Monteith equations for evapotranspiration.
