Abstract

Rainfall erosion indices were calculated for Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from a 19-year record and for four additional locations in southern Louisiana from a five-year record. Results showed the erosion indices recommended by Wischmeier and Smith (1978) for the studied locations were satisfactory for soil erosion control/prediction except for the higher indices in central Louisiana. Latitude and longitude were highly significant in explaining the variation of erosion indices in south central Louisiana.
