Effective interaction calculations: Where do we go from here?

Abstract

After a brief review of effective interaction theory and the problems related to its computation, we discuss some new approaches for calculating the effective shell-model interaction. The goal is to obtain a simple, but useful form for the effective interaction (a la Kuo and Brown).
