Effects of absorption on TE0 nonlinear guided waves

Abstract

The effects of linear absorption on TE0 nonlinear guided waves have been investigated using the beam propagation method. The distribution of absorption in the waveguide is found to have profound effects on the propagation of the nonlinear guided waves obtained from the lossless case.
