Er3+-doped ZBLAN fiber laser Q-switched by Fe:ZnSe

Abstract

A highly erbium ion-doped ZBLAN fiber laser passively Q-switched by a Fe:ZnSe crystal is reported. Mid-infrared pulses at 2.78 μm with a repetition rate of 70.4 kHz and a pulse duration of 5.8 μs were generated.
