Abstract

Using the results obtained for the resonance regime of excitation of Tollmin-Schlichting waves by a vibratory wave moving along the surface, the excitation of instability waves by a localized vibrator is analyzed. Theory is compared with experiment. Calculations of the amplitude of the excited instability waves is made for Mach numbers M equals 0. 2-0. 8.
