Experimental and theoretical analysis of optically pumped semiconductor disk lasers

Abstract

The power scaling of optically pumped semiconductor (OPS)-disk lasers was experimentally demonstrated by minimizing the thermal resistance between active region and heat sink. The dependence of the computed output power on the substrate thickness and detuning was discussed. The results showed the crucial thermal management in such devices for high efficiency and high-power OPS-disk lasers with brilliant beam quality.
