Abstract

Recently, the use of optics technology for computer interconnection networks has been receiving considerable attention. The research of such networks has entered into the phase of the construction of prototypes, and the development of commercial systems is foreseeable. Presented is a simulation methodology for the examination of free-space optical interconnection networks (OINs). With this methodology, a broad range of OIN designs are capable of being simulated.
