Image formation in coronagraphs due to mirror polarization aberrations

Abstract

The high contrast specifications of exoplanet coronagraphs drive optical system PSF, resolution, and stray light specifications far beyond previous optics. The effects of coatings on wavefront and polarization will compromise coronagraph performance unless properly designed.
