Interaction of Light with Subwavelength Structures

Abstract

The interaction of light with subwavelength structures is studied. The application of the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method to solve the problems involving the interaction between a focussed beam of light and the subwavelength structures is also discussed. The simulation results are presented for the case of a focussed beam interacting with small pits and apertures in a thin film supported by a transparent substrate.
