Abstract

A multidimensional hybrid coded-modulation (CM) scheme enabling beyond 1 Pb/s serial optical transport is described. This CM scheme employs both electrical basis functions (orthogonal prolate spheroidal wave functions) and optical basis functions (spatial modes).
