Abstract

Transverse myelopathy developed in a 32-year-old man soon after a scorpion sting. The only abnormal findings from laboratory studies, which included complete myelography, were a CSF leukocytosis and elevated total serum protein levels. Spontaneous resolution of his neurologic deficit occurred, and he had normal neurologic function one year after the sting. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of myelopathy occurring after scorpion envenomization.
