Abstract

NICMOS, the Near Infrared Camera and Mult-Object Spectrometer was placed in the Hubble Space Telescope in February of I 997. Since then it has been carrying out and extensive program of scientific research. This paper presents the current status and performance of the instrument along with a sample of the observations that have been carried out to this date.
