Abstract

The first unambiguous measurement of the d+d→4He+π0 cross section as well as that for the competing double radiative capture process was carried out. Preliminary plane wave calculations indicate that π0-η mixing is important. Furthermore, estimates showed that electromagnetic effects are very small.
