Optical label detection and packet switching using a 4×4 optical crosspoint switch matrix

Abstract

155 Mb/s WDM label channel is detected directly by switch cells in a 4×4 optical crosspoint switch matrix without added optical components. Switching performance of 10Gb/s packets is not affected by the detection process.
