Abstract

This chapter focuses on methods and techniques for optimizing the design of water distribution systems. Subjects covered include a summary of optimization models that have been developed, general optimization problem statement, and water distribution system design for multiple loading, including a solution algorithm, system components, cleaning and relining, and example applications.
