Optimization of parameterized lightpipes

Abstract

Parameterization via the bend locus curve allows optimization of single-spherical-bend lightpipes. It takes into account the bend radii, the bend ratio, allowable volume, thickness, and other terms. The modified simplex method is used for optimization.
