Photosensitivity of solgel-derived germanosilicate planar waveguides

Abstract

Photosensitivity of the experiments performed in germanosilicate sol-get planar waveguides containing high concentrations of germanium is studied in which sample composition, index and thickness were closely controlled. The results are discussed based on a model for photosensitive effects in germania-silicate system, where change of photoinduced index depends on local bleaching of 242-nm band.
