Abstract

We present two PMD compensation schemes suitable for use in multilevel block-coded modulation schemes with coherent detection: (i) Bell Laboratories layered space-time architecture (BLAST)-type polarization-interference cancellation scheme, and (ii) iterative polarization cancellation scheme.
