Abstract

This paper is directed toward surveying the current state and future course of developments in this technology, with respect to both metal and ceramic matrix composites. The intent of this paper was to review the open literature on the fundamentals of processing of metal and ceramic matrix composites and to draw attention to areas relating to the problems or limitations in these newly emerging technology.
