Rate-adaptive four-dimensional nonbinary LDPC-coded modulation for long-haul optical transport networks

Abstract

A rate-adaptive four-dimensional nonbinary-LDPC-coded modulation scheme is proposed for high-speed long-haul optical transport networks. Transmission distances range from 5,800 km to 8,900 km at flexible information bit rates beyond 100 Gb/s.
