Scanning pentaprism measurements of off-axis aspherics

Abstract

We have developed a scanning pentaprism system to measure off-axis araboloidal mirrors such as those for the Giant Magellan Telescope primary mirror. The test was demonstrated on a 1.7-m diameter prototype and proved to have ~50nm rms precision.
