### Abstract

In the limit of a very weak quadrupole lens, the optical parameters such as focal lengths, chromatic aberration coefficients, and spherical aberration coefficients can be calculated analytically in terms of the simplified polynomial model (SPM) expressed as a function of the inflection points. The inflection points are easily determined by root finding from the physical dimensions of the short quadrupole lens.
