Abstract

Sleep is a barometer of the quality of our lives. In this entry, we examine how disturbed sleep, including insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias, sleep apnea, and narcolepsy, negatively affects a broad range of processes important for overall functioning and how improved sleep positively affects our lives, including our mental health.
