Abstract
The incoherent light emission from semiconductor nanostructures is investigated by deriving equations for semiconductor luminescence. The obtained formulation is independent of the particular structure geometry and mode functions of the quantized light. We demonstrate the importance of these results for a general quantum-ring system, the effective dimensionality of which is between zero and one.
