Abstract
We review our recent results on the superconducting properties of artificially prepared metallic heterostructures. Our sputtering system used to prepare these materials is described in detail along with a calculation of the thermalization of sputtered atoms. The structure of Nb/Cu and Nb/Ti heterostructures is discussed, as are Tc, energy gap, and phonon frequency measurements.
