Testing Synergistic Effects for Simultaneous Exposures with Stratified Dichotomous Response

Abstract

This paper compares small sample performances of test statistics for assessing the degree of interaction between two exposures with respect to the occurrence of a time- stratified dichotomous outcome. Particular attention is focused towards cancer bioassays. A null model of simple, independent, joint action is adopted. Sizes and powers are examined via Monte Carlo simulations for the various statistics proposed under a variety of parameter configurations.
