Abstract
We describe the Level 1 muon (L1MU) trigger for Run II of the DO colliding beam experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron. Unique features of this design include Gbit/s serial transfer of data over coaxial cable, the use of FIFO's for input data synchronization and buffer management, and a message builder implemented in an FPGA. Details of the L1MU trigger logic are also documented.
