The significance of atmospheric measurements for interior models of the major planets

Abstract

We present a discussion of proposed models for interior processes in Jupiter and Saturn, and discuss how these models can be tested by atmospheric measurements by space vehicles. The importance of measurements at Uranus and Neptune is also discussed.
