Abstract
The thermodynamics of hydrogen in Al-Si alloys was discussed. The solubility of the hydrogen was deduced. It was found that the interaction coefficient for the solid alloys applied to the mixture of the two phase and not to the individual phase. The analysis showed that both the solubility of hydrogen in α and the partition ratio of hydrogen with lesser silicon were greater than the solubility and partition ratio for the equilibrium ratio.
