Thin-ridge SOI disk and ring resonators with "magic radius" and "magic width" phenomena

Abstract

Using the mode matching simulation, we show that the propagation losses of TM-like mode in thin-ridge SOI disk and ring resonators are significantly impacted by the radius of the disk or ring, and waveguide width.
