The use of web-based instructional materials to increase educational opportunities for those who cannot attend traditional classes are discussed. Students are required to work through the examples and then to generate a list of questions about the material to identify where their difficulties lie. Interactivity and the ability to present materials in non-static formats are two ways to make supplemental web-based materials useful.
