VUV frequency combs and fundamental limits of intracavity HHG due to ionization dynamics

Abstract

Intracavity high harmonic generation utilizing femtosecond enhancement cavities enables a unique route for efficient generation of extremely coherent light in the vacuum ultraviolet. We report record power levels and describe fundamental limitations from intracavity ionization.
